warpwl 0
Hi all! Recently returned to OSRS after a loooong break, and thought I'd try my hand at running a little farm of maybe 5-10 bots - ideally something that could fund itself and also make a little in-game pocket money. All the cool kids seem to be doing it, so why not join in? =D I am however very new to the world of botting and would appreciate some pointers if anybody is willing to give them. To start with is payment methods. Being a fairly 'normal' internet user I've never bothered with crypto currencies - I prefer to invest the 'traditional' way, simply because I know how it works! A coinbase account will hopefully solve payment restrictions, however. I assume that'll do the job? I'm aware that running things off my own machine isn't ideal for multiple reasons, so using a VPS is a better solution. This seems fairly straightforward in principle, although recommendations for hosts would be great - I've seen plenty of posts online recommending against certain vendors but not many recommending for them! VPN usage is also a given expectation, considering what we're doing here! I've never actually used one before, however, for personal or botting uses! Again, suggestions would be appreciated. Following that I would have to figure out how to have it run a separate IP address for each account, and only when in use, but that's something that I'm sure I could figure out later on. Account creation is something that seems like it would be a waste of time and vps resources if I can simply bulk-buy them from the Eternal Accounts discord server at $0.15 or less each. Is there any benefit or drawback to simply buying them over creating them yourself? I found the Eternal Accounts server through the Eternal Farm server (recommended by somebody here in another topic), but I'm not actually sure what EF is used for. What do I seem to be missing here? So! Assuming that we have a VPS & VPN set up, and we have accounts ready to run, and we know what Eternal Farm might be used for, we move onto the botting. Having never botted before I've obviously no experience with the various platforms available, but I've pretty much come to rest with TRiBot. I'm still considering tinkering with PowBot, but it would have to do something impressive to make me change my mind! So we install TRiBot. I assuming that the free package is to be ignored outside of very limited use-cases, but is it worth the extra couple of dollars for the Premium package? I assume ban rates are much lower with cloaking/humanised mouse movements etc? Following this we need to actually do things! I've done a little digging around, and it looks like using nRestocker would be the most hands-off way of managing things towards the top level? However I know I'm missing something rather major. nMule looked like it would be rather useful in there somewhere, too. That said I know I'm missing something rather major in the puzzle (and I don't mean the "doing something like woodcutting" script part), I just can't quite work out what! It doesn't help that links to some scripts seem to be broken. Does the TRiBot client handle starting the instances of OSRS? If not what would I use to say open and monitor them, rotate through accounts (and their associated vpn settings, behaviours etc), or just do anything else that I've missed? Again, I would hugely appreciate any advice offered - obviously don't want to start throwing money around before I have at least a vague plan in place! I would recommend starting with 1-2 rather than 5-10 bots, and slowly figuring out what works best for you. As for payment methods, that's a personal decision that no one really can decide for you. VPN is generally considered a no no. Better off using high quality proxies that are SOCKS5. Account creation - if you're just getting started, that is an absolute beast to tackle, and I would recommend buying premade accounts. Hope that helps 🙂

Hope that helps 🙂 Sorry, should have said that intended to work up to 5-10 - I certainly didn't expect to be running that many on day one! 😅 Payment I can figure out. Crypto transactions can't be that hard to figure out! (edit: turns out they're rather more difficult in the UK now! I'll figure it out though, I'm sure!) Didn't actually realise there was a difference between VPNs and proxies - again, not something I've ever used. Will do a little digging tonight in that case! Given the low cost I've no issues with buying the accounts - at ~10p each they're pretty much disposable! And it's certainly helped a little, yes, thankyou! =] Edit: Oh, and I know that the answer to a lot of these questions is "spend a few quid making mistakes and figure it out yourself", but it never hurts to ask! Can you tell me your reasoning for this.

Care to explain further as I personally use a VPN and I know most normal players do aswell. Can you tell me your reasoning for this. Most normal players don't use a VPN. Well over 99% of all users for any web service do not use VPNs. VPNs are all universally "detected", meaning that when you connect to a website/game/etc the server can look up your IP and immediately know its a VPN/Proxy. This is considered a reg flag a lot of the time. You'll see more captchas when web browsing, you might get payments declined, etc. Your "trust factor" with everything immediately goes down. This is the same for most proxies in general, to be honest. I've used a lot of anti-fraud technology and they all factor in proxy IP. This alone makes it more likely to be banned for botting. But also, botters have exhausted VPN IPs for every shady thing you can imagine. If you're using a VPN, you're on an IP address that has probably had dozens of RS account bans, WoW bans, shoe buying bans, credit card fraud bots, nigerian scammers, forum bot activity, youtube viewbot activity, and much more. When you access anything with a VPN, it's assumed that there is a very high chance you're not legit because your IP probably already has a bad history with that service. You’re right that most players don’t use VPNs and that servers can often detect them. If you're looking for secure and reliable alternatives, HostNoc offers cheap dedicated server hosting that might suit your needs better for privacy and performance.
