Twitch's Apology To Tribot

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone (: as some of you may know i was permanently banned from tribot, for a good reason. the tribot staff decided to unban me, because i am a very active tribot user who helped a lot of tribot users. i was banned for using multiple accounts and interacting with them. this was like 6 months ago, right when i started on tribot. i was trying to gain positive feedback as a kick-start ( terrible idea, NEVER DO IT !^ ) the name was dusty 125 (inspiriert by a high ranked runecrafter) anyway this can be found here you can click on the text.  last but not least.. Fake sale topic in which i interacted with exhobit32  . long... long time ago but should not be forgotten. This is an apology to everyone.

special thanks to J M C, Montreal.

and of course the whole tribot staff :*

To make this more clear:

Twitch created two accounts and created fake sales threads and talked to himself on them, and pretended to complete trades. He then left himself feedback with this accounts (false/self feedback) which is against our rules.

Those accounts were:

One of the threads he interacted with himself on/staged a sale:

Picture of the feedback left from dusty 125 before i had removed them:

With the exhobit account he even went far enough as to use a proxy to conceal his activity.

This is the reason for his ban, however we have decided to pardon him for this and to remove the self-feedback he had left himself. The reason for this pardon is even though it seems he planned/acted with devious intent he  never cashed in on his self-feedback in a devious/scamming way and actually became a very active and helpful member of this community. This post serves as full disclosure and to let the community know what he has done and decide whether they wish forgive him or to do business with him or not after being given all the facts.

was there any need for this post? waste of time/energy.

@MrWhippy69 Many people asked why he was banned, and users should be able to have the details of this particular event fully disclosed so they can decide for themselves how to proceed. Some may forgive, or some may choose not to do business with the user. The point is we cannot decide for them and we have just given them all the details to make a decision for themselves. I'm glad to see many forgive this user.

atleast nothing was caused by him doing it and he was active/helpful/ and is now sorry for what "petty" things he did 6 months ago

like what 2-3 feedback maybe comon ppl he would of kept doing it to scam someone if that was his intention but he stopped and even tho he got caught isnt like he could just tell them too sooo

vs all these scammers out there im sure he helped atleast 3 people out since he stopped and thats worth something too

I think a TWC is not a stretch. Since he is back, I will say this. I remember the day he joined the community. He was posting around asking how to do things (like new people do) such as how to bot this and that. Two day later, he starts acting like an expert on things (lol) and before this ban whenever people would ask for help, he would post on the thread and be a complete dick about things. Not to mention him being rude to me over skype because the cost of proxies in GP went up (because the cost of gold dropped like crazy). I lost a lot of respect for him over the way he has treated people on the forums as of late in addition to our interaction on Skype.

Just my two cents. I think he could be a bit nicer to people in general.

Not really, he didn't have an intent to scam and never showed anything other than wanting to give himself some feedback to startup faster and easier.

Sure it does. Just because he didn't doesn't mean he wasn't going to. I don't see why you would go through the trouble of giving yourself false feedback if you weren't already planning to head into something shady in the first place.

He could legitimately have just wanted to be able to compete with the established marketplace sellers and have someone give him a chance. It's like if a new restaurant in town went online after their grand opening and posted a bunch of 5 star Yelp reviews. Whether that was the case or not, it's still super sketchy.

I saw something somewhere about account selling being forbidden on TRiBot. Is that correct? I didn't see it anywhere in the rules and regulations post.

    • TRiBot 12 Release Candidate

The TRiBot team has been hard at work creating the last major version of TRiBot before the TRiBot X release. We've noticed many problems with TRiBot 11 with a lot of users preferring TRiBot 10 over 11. We've heard you, so we took TRiBot 10, added the new features introduced with 11, introduced some other new things, and created TRiBot 12. So without further adieu, here's TRiBot 12.

    • Gradle is a build tool used to accelerate developer productivity.

We recently setup a Maven repository (TRiBot Central) to make it easier for scripters to create scripts. Check it out here: https://gitlab.com/trilez-software/tribot/tribot-central/-/packages

Furthermore, we've released a simple Gradle project to make it easy to run TRiBot and develop scripts for it. Check it out here: https://gitlab.com/trilez-software/tribot/tribot-gradle-launcher

The goals of TRiBot Central are to:

      Deliver updates to TRiBot faster

Better organize TRiBot's dependencies (AKA dependancies)

Make it easier to develop scripts for TRiBot

Make it easier to use and run TRiBot

Note: TRiBot won't be able to run scripts from within this project until TRiBot's next release.

    • Hi everyone,

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience in this transition period. Since last week, we've worked out the remaining bugs with this integration.

Some users have still been having issues with connecting their forums account to their Auth0 account. To resolve this, we've imported all forums accounts into Auth0.

Unfortunately, the accounts which were imported today were using an unsupported password hashing algorithm. Hence, random passwords were set during the import.

What does this mean for me?

If you've previously linked your forums account to your Auth0 account, you don't have to do anything. Nothing changes for you.

If you haven't logged in via our new login yet,

Try logging in with your forums email address and the last password you used

If you are unable to login, please use the "Forgot password" tool on the login page:
Follow the instructions to reset your password

    • Hello everyone,

Last week we tried to roll out Auth0 Login, but we lost that battle. Now it's time to win the war!

      Important changes

When logging into the client, you'll now have to enter your Auth0 account credentials instead of your forums credentials

Note: 2FA is still handled through your forums account (for the time being)

      Changes for existing users

You'll have to link your Auth0 account to your forums account here: https://tribot.org/forums/settings/login/?service=11

Auth0 accounts have been created for most existing users. Please use your forums email address and password to login.

      Important notes

Make sure to verify your email address upon creating a new Auth0 account

When we mention your Auth0 account, we mean your account used for auth.tribot.org as displayed below

    • To better support the upcoming changes (TRiBot X, new repository), we're switching our login handler to Auth0. Instead of logging in with the standard form, you'll now be required to login through our Auth0 application.

All existing accounts which have been used within approximately the past year have been imported into Auth0 using the same email and password combination which has been stored on the forums.

What does this mean for users?

Your account credentials are now even more securely stored

You'll be able to login via Facebook, Google, and others in the future

Is there anything users have to do differently now?

Existing users: You'll have to login with the standard login, open your Account Settings, then link your Auth0 account

New users: You'll be redirected to our Auth0 app (auth.tribot.org) where you'll be able to create an account

      Why was this change made?

The new apps we are creating (such as the new repository) aren't able to use the forums to handle user logins

To centralize all user accounts in one area

To ensure that the client login doesn't go down when the forums are having problems

      To speed up our development

      Other considerations

There's no documentation or official support for using Invision Community combined with Auth0, so there are still a few kinks we're working out

We're in the works of creating an account management panel specifically for Auth0 accounts (ETA August)

It's not possible to change email addresses for the time being (this will be resolved this August)

Changing passwords is a weird process for the time being. To change your password, you'll have to use the "Don't remember your password" tool on the Auth0 login page
